Getting Ready for 2026

Let's take some time to review changes in your situation for 2026 tax planning:

Children entering/leaving school or college; Spouses relocating, retiring or becoming single; aging parents; anticipated investment sales, gains, etc.  All these can have an effect on your taxes.

First Step

Answer these questions.  If you answer "Yes" to one or especially more than one of them, you should start preparing now to be ready for next tax filing.

*Did you have a balance due for 2025 taxes?

  1. Did/will you (or your spouse) change jobs?
  2. Did/will you (or your spouse) retire?
  3. Did/will you (or your spouse) buy, sell or inherit a house?
  4. Do you (or your spouse) expect to have large capital gains?
  5. Did/will you have a change in marital status?
  6. Did/will any children turn 17 this year?
  7. Did/will any dependents graduate high school or college this year?

Second Step

Gather the documents and information listed below, give us a general idea of your availability, and submit them to our secure email.

Include:

  1. Copy of your (and your spouse's) most recent pay stub showing year-to-date amounts
  2. Copy of your (and your spouse's) monthly  Social Security amount - gross, before deductions for medicare, withholding, etc.
  3. Copy of your (and your spouse's) monthly pension amount - gross, before taxes

Once we have had time to review your information, we will contact you to schedule the Zoom meeting.
